We are approaching 1 of my absolute favourite seasons right here in Chokoloskee, the ten,000 Islands, and Everglades Nationwide Park!
My causes are many and I could go on forever describing them, but some of the highlights are…. 1) Mild weather patterns with little rain, decrease humidity, and light winds, two) Fish are actively browsing and feeding on the enormous bait pods just off the coastal beaches, three) Daytime temperatures are comfortably hovering in the high 70's to reduced 80's, 4) Migratory birds are arriving in mass quantities for the winter…and the list goes on!
With the alter of seasons, brings a change in tides. Observe individuals excessive damaging reduced tides of each the new moon and the total moon. Search at your tide charts and you will see excessive reduced tides for a few days ahead of and soon after these lunar phases. A reduced tide of -.04 could wreck your day if you did not anticipate it. If you are out on the water, use these lower tides as possibility to educate yourself as to where people shallow oyster bars and deep pockets lay.
From now through the first cold fronts in mid December, the close to coastal regions will be absolutely total of Spanish Mackerel, Bluefish, Jacks, Ladyfish, and other super energized quickly swimming species. Look for the flocks of birds hitting the water and feeding on the scraps of an underwater frenzy. This is where you want to throw your baits! When you hit a single of these frenzies, it will normally create an instantaneous bite. Use a light wire leader to steer clear of getting lower off by Mackerel and bluefish.
